Alpitour achieves certification for gender equality

ROME (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is celebrated on November 25, Alpitour SpA announces the achievement of the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification that defines the guidelines on the management system for gender equality. This important recognition represents an additional piece in confirmation of Alpitour World’s commitment to people, placed at the center of its development policies, as was already the case with Alpitour SpA’s signing of the company integrative contract (CIA) and the recent Employer Branding group campaign. This is a further drive for innovation and cultural change that takes on particular relevance in Alpitour S.p.A., where 73% of the company’s workforce is female and 49% of positions of responsibility are held by women. The new milestone is part of the Social dimension of the ESG strategy undertaken, and in particular among the Diversity & Inclusion themes, recognizing the ability to have taken concrete measures over the years to promote a sustainable and inclusive corporate culture and work environment. With this in mind, “Alpitour. Equal not less” is the key message identified to enhance all the D&I activities undertaken and that will gradually be put in place to foster the continuous development of initiatives aimed at promoting a growing focus on people, their rights and diversity. “Ours is a journey through differences and towards equality. Social responsibility and commitment to gender equality are an integral part of the company’s mission,” says Christian Catiello, Organizational Director of Alpitour World. “Achieving certification does not represent a goal for us, but a further step towards increasingly sustainable development. A process that requires constant commitment from all our staff and that stimulates us to continuous improvement and the setting of new goals, through a long-term strategy based on mutual respect and equal treatment.” The certification, issued by DNV, is based on the assessment of the requirements of UNI/PdR 125, interviews with and interviews with employees, and a process of evaluating company performance against 33 key indicators, qualitative and quantitative in nature, grouped into specific thematic areas, aimed at assessing and reporting on the performance of HR processes and corporate governance, corporate culture and strategy on gender equality, opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in the company, pay equity and protection to parenthood, as well as work-life balance. To further strengthen this commitment, Alpitour SpA has established a Steering Committee, composed of members from different functions, which together with the company management has drafted an inclusive communication manual to ensure that everyone adopts respectful and non-discriminatory language. In addition, the “Human Resources-Gender Equality Management Policy” has been defined, which outlines the principles and guidelines specifying the commitment to issues related to gender equality, the enhancement of diversity and women’s empowerment, also with reference to the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct adopted by the company. The implementation of this policy involves a series of initiatives and concrete actions that Alpitour S.p.A. is working on, including the drafting of an Abuse, Harassment and Violence at Work Procedure, which has already been communicated to all staff, the improvement of parental leave policies, training activities to encourage return to work post-maternity and workshops on gender bias awareness.Within this path is also the start of the application for membership in Valore D, the association with which Alpitour SpA is committed to promoting inclusion as a competitive factor for growth, in the belief that a work environment in line with this principle not only improves organizational wellbeing, but also fosters the individual and professional development of each person. In addition to UNI/PdR 125:2022 for gender equality, Alpitour SpA recently achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, which defines the requirements for implementing and maintaining a system for managing and safeguarding sensitive information in the company database. This further strengthened corporate governance as a testament to the company’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of cybersecurity and ensuring ethical handling of data.
