ROME (ITALPRESS) – “Dear young people, perhaps sometimes it can happen to you too to be put ‘under accusation’ for following Jesus. At school, among friends, in the circles you frequent, there may be those who want to make you feel wrong because you are faithful to the Gospel and its values, because you do not conform, you do not bend to do like everyone else. You, however, do not be afraid of the ‘condemnations,’ do not worry: sooner or later the criticism and false accusations fall away and the superficial values that support them are revealed for what they are, illusions. Be careful not to get drunk on illusions. Please be concrete. Reality is concrete. Be careful of illusions.” So said Pope Francis in his homily at the World Youth Day Mass, addressing young people. “Do not be deceived by those who, enticing you with futile promises, in reality only want to instrumentalize you, condition you and use you for their own interests. Be careful of instrumentalization. Be careful not to be conditioned. Be free, but free in harmony with your dignity.
