First goal in Champions League but Bologna knocks out with Lille

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – Nothing to do for Bologna, which fell 2-1 at the Dall’Ara against Lille and almost definitively compromised its playoff qualification. Despite the first goal in this Champions Rossoblù sealed by Lucumì, it was Mukau’s double that knocked out Italiano’s eleven.
Bologna started very well, with Dallinga finding the lead goal at 5′ on Orsolini’s feed but all in an offside position, later signaled by Var to referee Oliver. Lille responded shortly after, on the development of a corner smashed towards goal by Alexsandro, stopped only by the post. Thus began an attacking phase on the part of the French, which Bologna managed for some 20 minutes with great order and balance. In the 40′ it was Fernadez-Pardo who sprinted fifty meters until he got in front of Skorupski, who defused the attempt with a low exit. Bologna remains in the game, until the crude mistake on a throw-in in their favor that will cause the French advantage: taken by Posch, who in an attempt to relaunch with his feet hits Beukema full on, giving Lille the chance to get into the box with Mukau, who has to kick twice on goal before beating Skorupski. We go to halftime with the transalpines ahead at the end of an otherwise balanced first half. In the second half, after first moments of insecurity, the red and blue eleven became dangerous again on the ball put in the box by Freuler for the header of Dallinga who from a few steps did not give strength to the ball, blocked in two times by Chevalier. But it was in 63′ that Bologna found the goal, thanks to a free kick well taken by Lykogiannis and pushed into the net by Lucumì. Parity that lasted only three minutes, with Lille immediately taking over the game again and with some nice phrasing sending Mukau through on goal again, free in the box to seal his double. Emiliani psychologically affected by the new disadvantage, with Italiano trying to unbalance his team’s set-up forward, still leaving spaces for the French, stopped in another couple of circumstances only by Skorupski’s great night. Bologna thus failed to find new offensive cues, thus surrendering its fourth defeat of its European campaign.
