MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Milan immediately returned to success, after the draw against Juventus, in the sign of Tijjani Reijnders: a double from the Dutchman and a 3-0 win over Empoli for Paulo Fonseca and his side. In the fog of the San Siro the Rossoneri immediately took off, managing possession against a rival dedicated to closing every space and defending grimly. Emerson Royal and Colombo build the first chances, but the real dangers come after the quarter-hour mark: Morata and Reijnders scare Empoli. It was precisely the Spanish striker who unlocked it on 19′, with a perfect shot from inside the area that left former Vasquez no chance. Milan took a 1-0 lead, but the Tuscan reaction was immediate: Anjorin and Colombo came to Maignan’s sides, but were not accurate. Pulisic wasted twice for an encore, and Milan, despite Paulo Fonseca’s (cautioned) obvious nervousness, dominated far and wide. The well-deserved double came at 43′, with an action very similar to the one of the previous goal: an uncertain rebound by Viti and a volley by Reijnders, going to rest on 2-0 Rossoneri. In the second half Empoli, which never shot on goal, changed two: out went the nervous Colombo and Pezzella, in came Solbakken and Cacace. Moves that awakened the Tuscans, who hit a crossbar with Maleh, but capitulated for good in 69′. Milan’s counterattack was lethal, with the ball coming from Musah to Reijnders: the Dutchman ran centrally, kicked between the defender’s legs and left Vasquez no chance. We are at 3-0 and here is the second double of the season for the former AZ Alkmaar, a true and authentic dragger of the Rossoneri midfield. From here on, the hosts just control in the Meazza party, managing their energy ahead of the Coppa Italia match (Tuesday) against Sassuolo. Leao and Chukwueze flirted with the poker in a hyperoffensive Milan, which also came very close to scoring with Abraham and the sub-entrant Camarda (on a reverse). Conversely, Empoli closed out without gas and in apnea, conceding victory to their rivals: 3-0 Rossoneri at San Siro for Fonseca, who erases the post-Juventus booing. His AC Milan displays one of the best performances of the season, rises to 22 points and remains seventh. The Tuscans, on the other hand, stop at 16: a bad night for them at the Meazza. – photo Image – (ITALPRESS).
