Trivially, in a desert there is nothing green.” This was said by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a video message to the General Assembly of Alis. “Some European choices in recent years have paid too high a price to ideology and have in fact closed the door to the reasons of those who do business,” Meloni explained. “We must ensure a certain regulatory framework, but avoiding excessive rigidity that harms those who do business and create jobs. Italy is the leader in Europe of a nonpaper on automotive that calls for a review of those regulations that risk bringing the European auto industry to its knees, and to reaffirm the principle of technological neutrality. We are convinced that all technologies that contribute to reducing emissions should be used and supported, without ideological closures that are harmful to many supply chains.”
