MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On Wednesday, Dec. 18, Il nuovo codice della strada, a guide for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians who want to delve in detail into the new rules that will come into effect from Saturday, will be on newsstands for free with Corriere della Sera.
Alessio Ribaudo, who has already authored two other Corriere della Sera volumes on road safety issues, is also the author of this clear and comprehensive vademecum, designed to learn the details of the “mini-suspension” of the driver’s license; the obligations for those who use electric scooters; the new power limits for the vehicles of newly licensed drivers; and the penalties for those who will be caught using a cell phone while driving. The book also addresses the new rules on speed cameras, LTZs and fines, providing up-to-date and comprehensive information for anyone who wants to get around within the rules.
Through thematic chapters such as Alcohol and Drugs; Speed, Tutors and Speed Cameras; Electric Scooters, Bikes and Pedestrians; Mini-Suspension of License; Fines; Checks Before You Drive; Safe Driving; and The Medical Corner, every aspect of the new legislation is explained in a straightforward and simple manner. With the help of 200 questions and as many answers, enhanced by figures, tables and infographics, the book then offers self-assessment quizzes to test how much you already know and how much remains to be learned. The 96-page guide also offers practical advice on how best to prepare before hitting the road and safely deal with the unexpected on the road. Among the topics analyzed: what to check before setting off to travel safely; how to adjust the seat to reach all the controls; driving techniques in snow or rain; how to avoid sudden obstacles; why to keep a safe distance; and what foods to prefer before getting behind the wheel to prevent crashing (the cause of 22 percent of fatal crashes).
Also dedicated to the issue will be a live meeting on CorriereTV titled How the Highway Code Changes: What You Need to Know, Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 12 p.m. Conducted by Maria Serena Natale, the author Alessio Ribaudo and Luigi Altamura, commander of the Verona Local Police and Anci contact person, will participate.
The book, which has the support of Anas-Italian Fs Group, is part of the many initiatives that Corriere della Sera carries out to keep attention high on the road safety education front, through articles, in-depth studies, volumes, dedicated meetings in schools and the establishment of a graduation prize dedicated to Francesco Valdisserri, a young road victim, son of Paola Di Caro and Luca Valdisserri, journalists of the Roman editorial office. And it is to Francesco, along with two other young road victims, 17-year-old Valeria Mastrojeni and 23-year-old Eleonora Motta, that this new work by Alessio Ribaudo is dedicated.
The New Highway Code, available at newsstands free with Corriere della Sera on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and in digital edition from Saturday, Dec. 21, is supported by a multimedia campaign signed by Hi! Comunicazione, planned on RCS media and on air on Radio Italia, Radio Popolare and RDS.
