I read that some people felt disappointed or confused by this episode, and as LILT, I can understand how the presence of a figure unrelated to the scientific world may have caused perplexity and misunderstanding. Especially if, in an untruthful way, it was implied that he spoke on scientific topics about which LILT never thought he had faculty and expertise.” This was written by Francesco Schittulli, national president of the Italian League for the Fight against Tumors, in a letter to the members of the LILT CDN, regional coordinators and presidents of LILT Associations regarding the controversy over the Jupiter affair.”I want, therefore, to reassure everyone: Mr. Liuzzi, as the Regional Coordinators and LILT Presidents present were also able to “hear,” was not invited as an expert to speak about cancer, nor did he express opinions in the oncology field there,” Schittulli adds. “Moreover, no connections were made between astrology and cancer. It was in no way LILT’s intention to promote or legitimize anti-scientific approaches, nor to disrespect the institutional venue that hosted us or the thousands of supporters who accompany us on our journey.
