Taekwondo, FITA awarded for environmental sustainability

ROME (ITALPRESS) – The international jury, composed of representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF), awarded first place to FITA (Italian Taekwondo Federation) for the “Environmental Sustainability” category. This award was given after careful evaluation of the 26 finalist entries. “As a Federation we are particularly proud of this award,” commented FITA President Angelo Cito. “It is recognition for work that starts from afar, embracing and sharing the common goals proposed by the IOC in pursuit of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, through a targeted program of action that can reconcile sport with goals in the environmental, economic, social and institutional spheres by 2030,” Cito added. “An achievement that confirms FITA’s commitment to promoting sustainable development integrated into sport,” concluded the Federation’s number one.- photo FITA Press Office -(ITALPRESS)
