MONZA (ITALPRESS) – After four consecutive draws in the league and much criticism received, Juventus rediscovered the joy of three points against Monza. At the U-Power Stadium, Thiago Motta’s boys overcame the Brianza team 2-1, thanks to goals by McKennie and Nico Gonzalez in the first half: in the middle scoring Birindelli for Monza. Although they did not play a flawless game, the Bianconeri thus hooked sixth place, bringing them within three lengths of the Champions zone. The eve’s indiscretions in the Juve household were eventually confirmed. To take care of his team’s poor offensive production, Motta deployed all his most qualitative players from the first minute: Koopmeiners played in the midfield, while behind Vlahovic were Yildiz, Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez. Despite an often predictable giropalla, the formation choices pay off from the very first half, where the Bianconeri score the two goals of the match. McKennie opened the scoring at 14′, off a Koopmeiners corner: the latter then left at halftime with an adductor problem. On 39′, however, Nico Gonzalez collected a loose ball in the opponent’s area and scored from two steps, taking advantage of a rather soft attitude of the Brianza rearguard.Between the first and second signatures of the bianconeri, however, there was also the goal of the momentary equalizer by Birindelli, author of a splendid volley. In the first half the hosts made themselves dangerous several times, wasting several chances on the restart, without punishing a few too many defensive lapses on the part of Juve.Lively and entertaining match also in the second half with the two goalkeepers immediately protagonists: first Di Gregorio stretched out to parry Bianco’s shot from outside, then Turati denied Yildiz’s personal joy.Monza continued to believe in the draw also because Juve did not bring the decisive lunge. In fact, at 70′, D’Ambrosio devoured the possible 2-2, kicking high from a good position. After a finale of total apprehension, Juve brought home the full spoils. On the other side, the Brianzoli leave the field with their heads held high, but the standings weep. Monza, in fact, is the tail end of the league with only ten points to its credit.- photo Image -(ITALPRESS).
