Everything easy for Roma, Parma beaten 5-0

ROME (ITALPRESS) – It was all easy for Roma, which beat Parma 5-0 in the match at the Stadio Olimpico, valid for the 17th day of the 2024/2025 Serie A championship: Paulo Dybala (two goals), Alexis Saelemaekers, Leandro Paredes and Artem Dovbyk scored. The Ducal formation immediately carved out the first chance after just three minutes with a conclusion by Bonny, which finished on the bottom. On 8′ came the response of the Giallorossi club, which won a penalty kick for a foul by Balogh against Paulo Dybala: the Argentine striker himself appeared on the penalty spot, dispatching Suzuki and putting his team ahead. Not even time to reorganize the ideas for Parma, that at 13′ the hosts find the doubling goal with Alexis Saelemaekers: great ball of Angelino that on the opposite side fishes the Belgian, who volleyed with the right and signed the 2-0. The men coached by Fabio Pecchia try to react on 18′ with a bolide from the distance by Hernani, on which Svilar manages to save with the help of the crossbar. Four minutes later it is Valeri who kicks from the distance, but his attempt goes off the bottom. On the half-hour mark it was still the guests who went in search of a goal to reopen the contest, but Sohm’s shot was also not accurate to trouble Svilar. At the end of the first half, it is Roma that comes back to the charge, building a couple of chances with Hummels and El Shaarawy, which are defused by Suzuki. In the second half it was again Claudio Ranieri’s boys who played the game, making themselves dangerous in 49′ with a right-footed shot by Konè. On 51′ Paulo Dybala scored his personal double and dropped the hat trick for the Capitoline side, depositing the ball into the net after a mistake by Dovbyk. That scoring is made official following a Var check. Pecchia tries to shake up his team through substitutions, but Parma continues to suffer the opponents’ initiatives: Dovbyk goes close to scoring, however, Balogh saves on the line. At 67′ there is a gasp from the Ducals, who hit a crossbar with Camara. After several chances squandered by Dovbyk, at 74′ Roma got a second penalty kick for a foul by the newly-entered Mihaila on Saelemaekers: this time it was Leandro Paredes who converted from the eleven meters for the Giallorossi’s poker. At this point the victory is practically secured, but Ranieri’s team continues its offensive assault, which in the 83rd minute also leads to the fifth goal: after several mistakes Artem Dovbyk seals the tap-in on Dybala’s assist. The latter blatantly wastes the 6-0 lead, while seconds before the triple whistle Svilar makes a great save to defend the final 5-0. By virtue of this result, Roma climbs to 19 points and hooks Empoli in 10th place in the standings, while Parma remains 15th at 15 along with Como and Verona. The Giallorossi will return to the pitch on Sunday, December 29 at the Meazza to face AC Milan.
