GENOA (ITALPRESS) – Antonio Conte’s Napoli won, albeit not without suffering, beating Genoa 2-1 at the end of a match that the Azzurri seemed to be in control until the end of the first half, only to then face the Ligurians’ strong comeback in the second half. Decisive goals by Anguissa first and then Rrahmani, in vain the Rossoblù goal at the beginning of the second half signed by Pinamonti. The first chance of the match came after very few minutes for Napoli, with a ball from the right side for the head of Lukaku, stopped only by the crossbar. Azzurri came close to the lead that would in fact arrive on 15′, on Neres’ cross for Anguissa’s breakaway, helped by a rebound with Frendrup in beating Leali and putting his side ahead. Genoa that suffers Napoli’s physicality, especially on set pieces, a situation from which the Parthenopean doubling would come: a free kick from the left three-quarter taken by Lobotka, which caught Rrahmani’s winning deflection, valid for 2-0. Rossoblù struggling in the construction of their maneuver, leaving the control of the game mostly to Conte’s men, who continued to guard the Grifone’s three-quarter to the tune of combinations and ball management. At the start of the second half, the Genoese eleven reared its head again, with Pinamonti, who from the left side kicked in a roundabout manner and engaged Meret in no small part in the dive. However, it will be the same Rossoblù center forward who finds the goal that shortens the distance, hooking Vitinha’s service and beating Meret with the right flat: 1-2 that raises the intensity of the match, with Genoa urging Meret again in the dive on Badelj’s dangerous header. Napoli no longer able to find the impetus of the first half, with the inertia of the match thus seeming to go on Genoa’s side, in a finale in which the Marassi crowd also made its strong push felt by Vieira’s players. Genoa’s presence in the area of Napoli was dense, but they managed to keep the lead they had gained unchanged and win three points that, waiting for Atalanta, put them back at the top of the standings. – photo Image – (ITALPRESS).
