PARIS (ITALPRESS) – France has a new government. Ten days after Emmanuel Macron appointed centrist Francois Bayrou, the 34 ministers who will make up the new executive (17 men and 17 women) have been announced. Éric Lombard, director general of France’s Caisse des Dépôts and Loans, has been named minister of the Economy.
Former Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin becomes Justice Minister. Centrist Jean-Noel Barrot was confirmed as foreign minister. Former French prime minister, Elisabeth Borne, has been appointed minister of Education.
Former Socialist premier, Manuel Valls, minister of state in charge of overseas territories.
Republican Bruno Retailleau will remain minister of the interior.
