TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Iveco has once again directed its efforts in favor of communities in need in Brazil.Every December since 2015, Iveco’s Solidarity Caravan has traveled across Brazil to carry out a specific project aimed at improving the lives of people living in socially vulnerable situations. This year, the project focused on rebuilding cities devastated by the floods that swept through the state of Rio Grande do Sul in April and May, severely affecting some 2 million people. The initiative brought together people from Iveco, truck drivers and locals to help rebuild homes and renew hope through community strength. The company donated construction materials and furniture and organized the transport of the donations from Iveco Group’s manufacturing plant in Sete Lagoas (Minas Gerais) to the residents of Rio Grande do Sul in an Iveco S-Way truck. Two drivers played leading roles in the project, using their experience in transporting essential supplies to the affected areas from the beginning of the floods and courageously helping communities as they faced damage to their homes.Iveco’s involvement in Brazil and the Caravan Solidarity project are in line with Iveco Group’s commitment to supporting and developing local communities in the regions where it operates, a commitment that is part of the Group’s broader sustainability strategy. Iveco Group is present in Brazil with 3 plants and 3 R&D centers in Sete Lagoas and a depot in Sorocaba.
