Inzaghi “Inter in form, Atalanta no longer a surprise”

RIYADH (SAUDI ARABIA) (ITALPRESS) – “It will take a great Inter team.” Simone Inzaghi has no doubts, the 4-0 accrued at San Siro in August should not mislead anyone: the challenge with Atalanta will be complicated, to be faced in the best possible way. Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi analyzes in a press conference the first semifinal of the Italian Super Cup to be played in Saudi Arabia: “They will face two teams that are having a great run. Their biggest success, beyond the Europa League,” he specified, “is that they are no longer a surprise, for us it will be a very difficult match against an opponent that is doing very well. The clear victory of a few months ago should therefore not influence a completely different match, as specified by Inzaghi himself: “Precedents do not go into the match, Atalanta had so many defections, from that match onwards they have had three excellent months. We are in a very good moment, but we know that pitfalls are around the corner.” And with the arrival of the new year, the goals are not changing: “They are the same as when I arrived three and a half years ago, we must always aim for the maximum, we are a great club. The Super Cup represents so much for us, it is a difficult trophy to win, we will try to do our best as early as tomorrow night.” Present in the conference Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Armenian midfielder also specified what the difficulties of the match might be: “Obviously tomorrow’s match will be very important, we know that Atalanta has been playing very well lately. We will try to play our best to win, it is very important for us to continue doing that. The championship match? We are talking about a game played four months ago, we have both changed. They have won so many games in a row and so have we. We are showing a very high level, the level of last season, we still have a difficult game ahead of us.” In the finale, Mkhitaryan himself wanted to answer about his own future and the possibility of playing in Arabia: “I have a contract with Inter Milan and we will see what happens at the end of the season, but I am happy to play in this club.”- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS)
