ROME (ITALPRESS) – The new Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV 2025 with new body color combinations, refined interior design, improved connectivity and a new special version, the Nagisa, will be available starting next spring. Introduced in 2023, the MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV is Mazda’s offering in the compact plug-in hybrid segment. Its “butterfly” doors, reminiscent of those on the Mazda RX-8 sports coupe, improve rear-seat access compared to a three-door coupe, while leaving the sloping rear-pillar styling intact. Equipped with an electric motor and Mazda’s unique gasoline rotary engine as a range extender, the MX-30 R-EV offers a purely electric range of 85 km, sufficient for daily commuting, and a total range of up to 630 km, ideal for covering long distances without recharging anxiety. The 2025 model features a modified range of three multi-tone color combinations: Ceramic White body with Brilliant Black roof, and side element changed from Gray to Brilliant Black; Jet Black body and roof with Silver side element; and Soul Red Crystal body with Brilliant Black roof and side element. The range of five monochrome colors remains unchanged. The refined interior design now includes a change to the cork color from natural to dark throughout the range. While Exclusive-Line trims have been updated with black fabric and “Urban Expression” leatherette; Makoto and Makoto Plus trims are now available exclusively with white fabric and “Modern Confidence” leatherette. Human Machine Interface (HMI) and connectivity have been improved with a larger central display, increasing from 8.8″ to 10.25 inches with now touchscreen functionality, particularly in the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are now also connectable wirelessly. The updated navigation system indicates range on the map and suggests charging stations along the way. Points of interest (POIs) can now be searched online. In addition, the two charging ports have been upgraded from USB-A to USB-C.The sunroof and Driver Assistance and Sound Pack, which includes advanced driver assistance features and a 12-speaker Bose sound system, previously available as options for the Makoto, are now part of the new Makoto Plus trim. The new Nagisa special version is available in three multi-tone colors that combine body and side element in Zircon Sand, Machine Gray or Ceramic White with a black roof. Metallic black 18-inch alloy wheels and a black-plated front feature wing accentuate the Nagisa’s sporty character. The interior combines black fabric with terracotta-colored leatherette for a distinctive ambience. The Nagisa trim offers the same equipment as the Makoto by adding the 12-speaker Bose® audio system from the Makoto Plus. The standard e-Skyactiv R-EV PHEV powertrain has been homologated to Euro 6e standards, but its power output remains unchanged. The electric motor powers the vehicle with a maximum power output of 125 kW/170 hp and 260 Nm of torque, while the single-rotor gasoline rotary engine uses its 55 kW/75 hp and 117 Nm to power a generator that recharges the battery while on the move. The MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 140 km/h. Weighted WLTP data indicate an average energy consumption of 18.3 kWh/100 km, an average fuel consumption of 1.0 l/100 km and average CO2 emissions of 22 g/km. The MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV will arrive at Italian dealerships in spring 2025 with prices starting at 38,520 euros.
