Conceiçao “United for Milan, I see too many divisions”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “The jerseys do not play, it is the players who wear them and they must put their best on the field, not only in Champions but in the league and in all competitions.” Thus Milan coach Sergio Conceiçao on the eve of the Champions League home match against Girona. The Rossoneri get there after the defeat against Juventus and have to deal with several absences. “Tomorrow we will have 12-13 players from the main team, three goalkeepers and three youngsters, it is also a message for the fans, the soul of the club. Milan is Milan, they have to look at the symbol of the team, they have to be the first player of Milan, without them the club does not exist,” the Portuguese explained in a press conference. We are the ones defending the club, the players and I will do everything on the pitch, but we need the support of the fans, tomorrow we have a very important match ahead of us, we are in a difficult moment, in emergency and we need everyone, I make an appeal to the people: tomorrow let’s win, draw or lose all together, maybe I won’t be nice and nice, but now I’m here at Milan, I see too many divisions in a historic club like this and it’s Milan that loses out. Coaches and players pass, fans are fans for life.” A heartfelt plea, a desire to compact the environment to make the team stronger and perhaps convey the mentality needed to hold their own for 90 minutes and move forward in the premier competition. “All matches are different, so are the conditions. Being in the best club competition in the world always gives great motivation and great teams like Milan work to be there every year in the Champions League. Even in the league we work to find the right continuity and qualify for the umpteenth time in a tournament where historically Milan has always done well, tomorrow will be a very important game for us.” The Portuguese coach calls for continuity from his boys, during the 90′ and in general. “Beyond the short time we had to prepare the match, I saw the boys focused, after Juve I said that we need to do work on a mental level as well. I have to give the right mentality to my guys, the guys are showing me that they have great motivation and want to grow as a team and on an individual level. We have to believe in what we do on a technical-tactical level, we have to be continuous inside the game,” the coach added. With his Porto side he went as far as the quarters, with Milan he hopes to go even further. “I have this dream of getting as far as possible, we work for this, we prepare every game to win and tomorrow we will try to do our best to go forward.” Pulisic is unlikely to be there. “Let’s see, we still have training tomorrow, he is with us in training camp, but I don’t want to risk losing him for a month.” No desire to answer market questions, rumors about the possible arrival of Walker: “Tomorrow’s game is the most important thing.”- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
