ROME (ITALPRESS) – Defining concrete and unified responses to the
challenges of the fashion industry and support, in Italy as in the EU,
companies before the dual green and digital transition:
these were the topics addressed at the Permanent Table of Fashion,
chaired by the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo
Urso. During the meeting, the minister announced that by
2025, Mimit has allocated 250 million to the sector, as follows
distributed: 100 million for Development Contracts, another 100
million to Mini Development Contracts, 15 million to accompany the ecological and digital transition, and 30.5 million to promote sustainability in the fashion sector.
“A strategic choice to support a sector that represents
the excellence of Made in Italy and a pillar of our
economy. Significant sums,” the minister stressed.
made available through concrete tools to give the
fashion companies the stability and confidence they need
to return to growth.” The minister recalled that over 22 billion resources will be allocated to companies in all production sectors during 2025. “This will be the decisive year, maximum effort for industrial revitalization in the challenge to the dual green and digital transition,” Urso said
outlining the measures put in place by the government. “A commitment
important in the face of tight budgets, which fashion companies can also benefit from, including 3 billion dedicated exclusively to SMEs and 4 billion earmarked
exclusively to enterprises in the South.” On the issue of research and development tax credit, Urso announced the
presentation of an amendment to the Dl Milleproroghe to improve the measure already prepared in the Budget Law “to give a solution, as far as sustainable, to what happened in the past, which weighs like a boulder even on fashion companies.
The amendment, among other things, reopens the terms for joining the
reversion procedure and provides a rebate in lieu of the contribution – which would have penalized companies that have to remit significant sums – within the limits of a total appropriation of 250 million. We know that this is a partial solution, but we have to take into account budgetary compatibilities. What
happened in the past is too heavy a legacy for everyone, for businesses but also for the state budget, which is currently still difficult to estimate. According to some, the gap opened with the mistakes made by others in previous legislatures could be even more than 3 billion,” the minister added. During the meeting, what has been done
since the establishment of the working group. Regarding the issue
employment, in the course of the work, the report of the
representative of the Ministry of Labor showed that the use
of fashion companies to the instrument of the cassa integrazione
extraordinary over the past year has been particularly limited. According to the Inps monitoring for 2024 and 2025 for the fashion sector, it appears that only 2.9 million have been disbursed at present for Cig. In the face of this scenario, Mimit and the Ministry of Labor will initiate a discussion with the regions as soon as possible so that, in extending the measure on the Cig, the scope of action can also be re-perimeter so that the tool can be fully utilized. Finally, a specific focus was devoted to the European dossiers on which the Italian government is working.
“The battle for industrial sustainability is won or lost in Europe. That is why we are in the field on the entire front of the revision and implementation of European regulations, together with Mase,” Urso stressed. Specifically, the dossiers concern extended producer responsibility for the supply chain on which Mase, in consultation with Mimit, has drafted a draft decree that has introduced important innovations.
In addition, Mimit is participating in two European working groups on the regulation concerning the labeling of textile products with the aim of modifying the overall content of the regulation taking into account the needs of businesses.
The government is also engaged in negotiation meetings in the Commission for the adoption of the Ecodesign regulation.
