Publishing, partnership between Albanian agency ATA and Italpress

TIRANA (ALBANIA) (ITALPRESS) – A partnership agreement was signed today in Tirana, in the presence of Italian Ambassador Marco Alberti, between ATA, Albania’s state news agency, and Italpress agency.
Signing the partnership were ATA Director General Valbona Zhupa and Italpress Editor-in-Chief Gaspare Borsellino.
Also participating in the meeting were Italpress agency Editorial Director Italo Cucci, Italian Embassy in Tirana Communications Manager Giacomo Montemarani, Almarina Gegvataj, ATA’s news director, and Arian Jorgaqi, head of the Albanian agency’s Foreign Desk.

“I am really happy and proud of this further step, because it testifies to the growth of Italpress internationally and especially in the Balkan area, an increasingly important geographical and geopolitical area,” said Gaspare Borsellino, founder and editor-in-chief of Italpress. “This further agreement with ATA will certainly help us grow and provide our subscribers with more and more quality and live services from an area like Albania and the Balkans.
“When I see an initiative being born in our world, the world of journalism, my heart expands,” commented Italo Cucci, editorial director of Italpress. “While on one side there are attempts to close down, there are still the brave ones who manage to open up: and this for an ‘old journalist’ is a joy. That it is in Albania is doubly a joy, because I seem to be of Albanian origin….”
Valbona Zhupa, Director General of ATA, stressed that this agreement represents “a very important step, because our countries are friends. We are very happy to make this agreement with Italpress. I think our agencies have the opportunity to exchange news about tourism, politics, art and culture, everything that our countries love most. The agreement is important,” he added, “given Albania’s geopolitical position.
According to Marco Alberti, Ambassador of Italy to Albania, “it is another opportunity that strengthens the ties between two countries, ties of friendship that are turning into strategic partnerships. Communication is itself a part of the strategy of relations between two countries. We are confident that from this agreement comes a further strengthening of the friendship, of the cooperation between our two countries.”
