MODENA (ITALPRESS) – Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo and GranTurismo Folgore have won the 2025 edition of the coveted Editor’s Choice Awards organized by Car and Driver in the categories of “Luxury Sports Car” and “Luxury Electric Sports Car,” respectively. Considered by many to be a kind of “role of honor” in the global automotive industry, this recognition by one of the most prolific automotive magazines and sources of information on the car world represents an extraordinary achievement for the House of the Trident. Each year, for the Editor’s Choice Awards, Car and Driver evaluates nearly 500 car models from 45 market segments currently on the road. After rigorous instrumental testing, road and track tests, and evaluation of the car’s value, driving pleasure, and whether the car fully accomplishes its mission, the team of expert editors choose the top options on the market, helping consumers identify the best new models to buy. In the Maserati GranTurismo 2025, sports car driving performance is combined with the long-distance comfort characteristic of luxury models. Designed and developed in Modena, Italy, at the Maserati Innovation Lab, the GranTurismo is 100% Made in Italy and is the embodiment of Italian luxury and performance. The advanced architecture is perfectly suited to both internal combustion engines and electric powertrains without requiring any changes to the car’s basic design, a unique feature in the world of electric vehicles. Customers thus have the luxury of being able to choose the GranTurismo Trofeo ICE variant equipped with a 3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 Neptune powerplant with pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula 1.Alternatively, the GranTurismo Folgore adopts a 100% battery-electric powerplant, powered by three 300 kW permanent magnet motors that transmit 760 horsepower to all four wheels. The 800-volt architecture was developed by taking advantage of innovative solutions derived from Formula E, while thanks to the battery’s distinctive T-shaped configuration, the center of gravity is lowered while maintaining the same design and driving position as the ICE variants. “We are honored to receive these prestigious awards from such an esteemed authority in the automotive industry as Car and Driver,” said Maserati North America General Manager Andrea Soriani. Maserati has a long history as a manufacturer of fascinating gran turismo cars. “The modern GranTurismo perfectly embodies the traditional characteristics of Maserati models: elegant design, incredible performance and a great dedication to Italian excellence. With more than 75 years of history that began with the original Maserati A6 1500, the GranTurismo Trofeo and GranTurismo Folgore 2025 encapsulate an undeniable Italian elegance that recalls the best Trident models while pointing the way to a future of innovation.
