Juventus-Empoli 4-1, Bianconeri comeback with Kolo Muani’s double

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Victory with a thrill for Juventus, which in the 23rd round of Serie A overcame Empoli 4-1 in a comeback in the lunchtime match played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. The hosts’ not-so-easy moment found confirmation from the very first moments of the match and at 4′ it was former De Sciglio, one of the “purged” of the new course, who punished the Old Lady. The Empolese number 22, one of the players most targeted by a part of the fans when he wore the Bianconeri jersey, took a nice revenge when from a Henderson corner, with the ball touched by Yildiz, he struck a header, slipping the ball between the legs of goalkeeper Di Gregorio. Shiver for the Bianconeri when on the quarter-hour mark referee Zufferli pointed to the penalty spot for a foul by the aforementioned Di Gregorio on Maleh only to change his mind moments later, called back by VAR, for an earlier touch with Anjorin’s arm. Juventus tried to shake it off by repeatedly looking for an equalizer: at 23′ a Nico Gonzalez effort tested the responsiveness of Vazquez, who lifted it over the crossbar while a minute later Weah’s long-distance conclusion went just wide. On the half-hour mark, to Empoli’s aid came McKennie, who unintentionally deflected a corner off a conclusion from a favorable position by teammate Koopmeiners. In the second half, after a couple of early skirmishes on the respective front changes, it was Juventus who found first the equalizer and then the lead through Kolo Muani on 16′ and 19′, respectively: on the first goal, the Frenchman who arrived on loan from PSG won a physical duel in the box with newcomer Goglichidze and then beat Vasquez with a strong right-footed shot at the first post, while three minutes later an action embellished by an initial “ruleta” by Yildiz continued with a strong conclusion by Weh that crashed into the transalpine, displacing the visiting extreme defender. In the final, with an Empoli reduced to ten for the expulsion of Moroccan Maleh, two more goals for the Bianconeri who closed out the match with the newly entered Vlahovic and Conceicao: the Serbian carried the ball to the edge and then discharged a powerful left-footed shot into the net, while the Portuguese, imbued by a great throw from Thuram, cooled the goalkeeper with a low right-footed shot.
