Trudeau “US duties to Canada suspended for 30 days”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “I just had a great call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan, strengthening the border with new helicopters, technology and personnel, better coordination with our U.S. partners and more resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. About 10,000 frontline personnel are and will work to protect the border. In addition, Canada is making new commitments against fentanyl, we will list cartels as terrorists, we will ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, we will launch a joint Canada-US strike force to fight organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will support it with $200 million. The proposed tariffs will be suspended for at least 30 days while we work together.” So says Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on X, announcing the agreement with the United States after a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump.(ITALPRESS).-Photo: Ipa Agency-
