Massacre in Sweden, 11 dead including gunman in school shooting

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Eleven people died, including the attacker, in yesterday’s shooting at a school in Orebro, Sweden. This was announced by police, who then added, “The motive is not yet known, but everything suggests that the perpetrator acted alone, without ideological motives.” The shooter was allegedly a 35-year-old Swedish man, unknown to the authorities. The shooting took place on the Risbergska Campus, where courses for adults, catching up on school years, Swedish language and vocational initiation, which are heavily attended by migrants, are held.
“This violence and terror has no place in our societies, much less in schools. In this dark hour, we stand with the Swedish people. Our thoughts are with the victims and we wish them strength and a speedy recovery,” Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, writes on X.
“I express my sympathy to the Swedish government and people for the terrible attack in the city of Örebro,” says Council President Giorgia Meloni. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families and all the injured people involved. We cannot accept that violence and barbarism find a place in our societies.”
