BIT 2025 inaugurated, Santanchè “Showcase of Italian excellence”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “The BIT is much more than a fair: it is an essential appointment and a showcase of excellence for the entire tourism sector, both nationally and internationally.” This was said by Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè, at the inauguration of the event organized in Rho. “An event that represents a real laboratory of ideas and strategies, where professionals and experts in the sector share innovative visions and outline the future of the tourism industry. In this context,” the minister continued, “listening carefully to the needs and proposals of operators proves to be a fundamental key to the success of the sector. It is precisely thanks to this collaborative approach that we have been able to push forward epoch-making measures that no previous government had dealt with, such as the reform of short term rentals and the one related to tour guides, which has been awaited for more than a decade and to date has more than 6,000 applications for the exam. And we are continuing to work to increase the quality of services and become more competitive in the global market. The results can already be seen – added Santanchè -. 2024 continues in the wake of the historical record of 2023, and could even do better, with an estimate of +2% on presences, as well as a growing appeal of the ‘Italià brand on foreign tourists: in the third quarter of the year, inbound increased by +7.7%, touching its peak in July, with 40 million presences. Excellent news,” concluded Santanchè, “also on the less canonical periods: the more than 17.5 million presences in November, equal to +11.66% over the same month in 2023, underline once again that the seasonal adjustment policies are bearing fruit and therefore we need to continue on this path to make these results structural and systemic. Results,” concluded Minister Santanchè, “that are, at the same time, unequivocal indicators of how tourism is a priority sector for the economic development and well-being of the nation.
