MILAN (ITALPRESS) – ITA Airways is present again this year at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT), scheduled to be held in Milan from February 9 to 11, with a stand that reflects and enhances the Company’s image, in Hall 9 of the fair. The BIT is an opportunity for ITA Airways to present the upcoming Summer 2025 season and the first novelty for Winter 2025-2026, represented by the launch of the Rome Fiumicino – Mauritius connection, which the Company will operate for the first time. In addition, for the summer peak, the Company will operate an additional 12 seasonal destinations, including 3 domestic and 9 international selected by the Company from among the most popular Mediterranean tourism destinations-Greece, Spain, and the Italian islands. Most of the seasonal destinations will be reachable with direct flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate, in particular:Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa and Pantelleriafrom Rome Fiumicino: Zakynthos and KefaloniaIn addition, weekly connections to Olbia to and from Turin will be activated from July 26 to September 6, again with the aim of ensuring quality mobility for all Italian citizens by contributing to the promotion of territories and the development of the Country System. The route will be operated on Saturdays, leaving Piedmont at 3:15 p.m. and Sardinia at 5:20 p.m. Finally, the Milan Linate-Rostock Laage route will be added to these connections.Important news is also the restoration from February 16 of night connections between Rome Fiumicino and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, which will have a daily frequency. Daytime flights are already operational again as of February 1.The night frequency will have the following schedule: departure from Rome Fiumicino at 22:50 and arrival at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport at 03:10 local time the following day; departure from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion at 05:15 (local time) with arrival at Rome Fiumicino at 08:05.Finally, the last new feature of ITA Airways’ upcoming Summer season is the new Milan Linate-Munich international route, operating from next March 30 with two daily frequencies from Monday to Friday, departing from Milan Linate at 07:30 and 17:30 and from Munich at 09:35 and 19:35. Only the morning frequency will be operated on Saturdays and only the afternoon frequency on Sundays.Also at the center of ITA Airways’ participation at BIT are important initiatives resulting from synergies with the Lufthansa Group, starting with the partnership between ITA Airways’ Volare and Lufthansa Group’s Miles&More loyalty program, which will provide the 2.7 million Volare members with the opportunity to accumulate and use points on Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines flights and, at the same time, the 36 million Miles&More members with the opportunity to accumulate and use points on ITA Airways flights. From March 1 to April 15, 2025, Volare members will earn additional miles on their first flight with other Group airlines.During the IATA 2025 season, which will begin on March 30, 2025, additional benefits are planned for passengers: Lounge Access: ITA Airways passengers will be able to access approximately 130 Lufthansa Group lounges and, for passengers of Lufthansa Group carriers, will be able to use ITA Airways lounges; terminals at Frankfurt and Munich airports: ITA Airways will move its operations to Lufthansa Group terminals at the two German hubs, thus facilitating and speeding up passenger transfers while at other Lufthansa Group hubs ITA Airways already operates in terminals where other Group carriers are located; codesharing: codeshare agreements will be initiated between ITA Airways and Lufthansa Group carriers; this synergy will enable passengers to combine flights operated by multiple Group carriers, thus providing ITA Airways passengers with access to some 250 destinations while Lufthansa Group customers will be able to reach destinations served by ITA Airways’ network more easily; harmonized connections: flights between the Lufthansa Group’s hubs (Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels) and the two main airports on which ITA Airways operates (Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate) will see harmonized frequencies and schedules and better distribution throughout the day, thus offering passengers more choice and shorter connections between flights.
