MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Pirelli launches the new Cinturato, a summer tire dedicated to premium cars, from sedans to CUVs, specializing in both original equipment and replacement. Thanks to Pirelli’s research and innovation work and extensive use of virtual design, the new generation stands as a current reference in the market for safety and efficiency, in line with Pirelli’s ‘eco-safety’ strategy. In the Cinturato, safety is confirmed by excellent braking performance: in dry conditions, external tests have ranked it first among the main competitors, and in wet conditions this is evidenced by the Class A in the European label for the entire launch range . Efficiency, on the other hand, ties in with mileage, which grows by 20 percent over the previous product, and low rolling resistance in favor of fuel economy. The new product’s leap forward is primarily due to the innovative compounds composed of materials designed and patented by Pirelli, which made it possible to overcome the traditional compromises associated with tire development, reconciling opposing needs such as braking grip with mileage and rolling resistance. This balance between performance was achieved first and foremost through the composition of the tread, which exploits the synergy between a novel star-shaped polymer and a special resin blend. Further benefits come from the new-generation silica called “SmartNet Silica,” which, with its special shape (regular elongated elements placed longitudinally with respect to the direction of travel), is capable of reconciling two other typically opposing performances: in cornering it offers greater grip and stability, while in straight stretches it helps contain rolling resistance. The new summer tire joins the other products in the Cinturato family, starting with the award-winning Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 launched last year, and the winter Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2, voted the best tire in its category since the first tests by several specialized magazines. In addition, the new summer will also be available with Pirelli’s exclusive technologies, starting with Elect, the package dedicated to electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
