Consulta full, 4 missing judges elected

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Parliament in joint session has elected the four missing judges of the Constitutional Court who are parliamentary appointees. In the vote, for which a three-fifths majority of votes was required, Massimo Luciani (505), Francesco Saverio Marini (500), Maria Alessandra Sandulli (502) and Roberto Cassinelli (503) were elected.
It was the prestige and experience of 69-year-old lawyer Roberto Cassinelli, a Genovese, former Forza Italia deputy and senator, but above all a Malagodian liberal, that unblocked the impasse that especially among the ranks of the post-Berlusconi party had delayed the agreement. This restores and completes the arrangement of the plenum of the Consulta, which for seven months has been gradually reduced to the limit of the quorum.
