Giorgetti “Government measures against high energy prices soon”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “We have updated forecasts on economic trends: Germany has been in recession for two years, while Italy is showing positive indices. We have made an important effort on the contributory tax wedge, to give respite to employees with low and medium incomes; the purchasing capacity of families has increased, while the growth in energy and utility prices does not depend on the behavior of the government, but on speculative dynamics on which the attention is maximum.” This was said by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti during Question Time held in the Senate.

“In the coming weeks a measure regarding price increases will have to be taken. The international situation presents us with great challenges: there is some concern with respect to the new dynamics assumed by the U.S. administration and the responses that are being studied, or not studied, at the European level,” the minister added.
