MONZA (ITALPRESS) – The salvation clash between Monza and Lecce ends 0-0. No goal at the U-Power Stadium, the draw suits the Salentini, now at +5 on the salvation zone, waiting for Parma, engaged against Roma. Complicated situation for the Brianzoli, with Nesta just returned to the helm, but everything is still open: next Monday there will be their own challenge against the Giallorossi at the Olimpico. It was a tense afternoon for both teams, with the match locked from the early stages. The guests tried to shake up the match after just two minutes, Helgason’s conclusion directly from a free kick hit the crossbar. On 26′ again the Giallorossi tried again to surprise the hosts, but Pierotti’s header ended high over the crossbar. Monza’s first ringing came in 38′, Pedro Pereira however failed to find the right coordination to get past Falcone. Very little changed in the second half, the Brianzoli tried to cling to Nesta’s changes: Caprari, at 27′ of the second half, engaged the Apulians’ goalkeeper with a great shot deflected into a corner kick. Ten minutes from the end Krstovic on a counterattack frightened the hosts with a conclusion from the limit deflected to the bottom. On 33′ Keita Baldè, released after his adventure at Sivasspor, was back on the field: the former Lazio man returned to Serie A two and a half years after his last match played in Italy. The knockout blow happened on Pierotti’s feet, Turati, however, overcame with an excellent intervention. There was no shortage of protests from Monza fans over a soccer market deemed not up to the mark for the salvation fight.- photo Image -(ITALPRESS).
