ROME (ITALPRESS) – Vittorio Polidori was elected president of Fitarco with 64.68 percent of the vote in favor. He beat off competition from Stefano Tombesi, who received 35.17 percent of the vote. This is the outcome of the elective assembly taking place at the Hilton Rome Airport Hotel in Fiumicino. Polidori succeeds Mario Scarzella, who, after six consecutive terms, did not run again. “Right now I am excited, it is not easy to talk. 24 years of Mario Scarzella cannot be changed without having a responsibility on his shoulders, which is huge. I hope he will help me for the early days, I’m counting on it and he promised me. He has been a teacher for me, a person to admire. He has taken the federation to an unexpected level.” As for the program and the first interventions, Polidori explains that “we will definitely start with the reorganization of a part that until now we have dealt with a little bit, namely that of new technologies, for example in dealing with our courses. The federation on this has remained somewhat static. Then, the technical structure will be expanded and strengthened, and some projects already in place will be corrected. These are the things we want to address. Then there are many, the program is very specific and I want to complete it completely.”
