PARMA (ITALPRESS) – It’s official: Cristian Chivu is the new coach of Parma. The former Romanian defender of Roma and Inter, along with his staff composed of Antonio Gagliardi (assistant coach), Angelo Palombo (technical collaborator) and Nicola Pavarini (goalkeeping coach), will lead the team in training scheduled this afternoon at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio. “The club welcomes Cristian and his staff to the Gialloblu with best wishes for good work,” reads a note from the Ducal club. Chivu takes over from Fabio Pecchia, who was exonerated yesterday in the aftermath of the defeat suffered at the ‘Tardinì against Roma. Chivu, 44, is on his first career bench after coaching Inter’s youth and Primavera teams; he will make his debut Saturday (3 p.m.) in the home Emilia derby against Bologna.
