Leao deludes Milan, Bologna turns it around and wins 2-1

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – It was Bologna who won the rematch of the ninth day against AC Milan. Italiano’s boys won 2-1 in a comeback, with Castro and Ndoye overturning the initial opponent advantage signed by Leao. The guests tried after only 20 seconds, when Musah inserted himself between the lines and served Gimenez on the left-hand side, who, however, shot sky high from a good position. On the flip side, Thiaw comes close to an own goal with a clumsy intervention on Dominguez’s cross from the left. On 16′, Musah makes an insidious cross shot from the right that is blocked in the corner by Skorupski. At 38′, Dominguez went wild on the left, entered the box but had the mirror closed by Maignan on his way out. Five minutes later, the Rossoneri take the lead. Maignan deflects on Gimenez’s header, spizzing in for Leao, who escapes Beukema’s marking, sprints toward the goal, skips past Skorupski and deposits into the back of the net with his left foot. It is the 1-0 that effectively sends the two formations into the locker room. The lead is short-lived, because on 3′ of the second half it’s the red-blacks who score. Ferguson kicked a free kick from the right, the ball splashed onto Fabbian who provided an unintentional assist for Castro, who signed the 1-1 goal from two steps, validated after a lengthy Var review for a check on an alleged hand foul committed by Fabbian. Conceicao’s men responded in 19′, when Musah was launched on the right by Fofana, entered the area and tried with his left footer, but Skorupski deflected it into the corner. At 36′ it was the Emilians who came close to making it 2-1, when Casale’s well-timed header hit the post wide after a corner kicked from the right by Miranda. It was the prelude to the real lead, which came at 37′. Maignan and his teammates were inexcusably surprised on a throw-in, with Cambiaghi receiving the ball and putting it in the middle catching Ndoye, the Swiss anticipating Pavlovic and beating the opposing goalkeeper. In the final, nothing more will happen. Thanks to this victory, Bologna climbs to sixth place at 44, bringing it within five points of fourth-place Juventus. On the other hand, Milan, with its second consecutive knockout, remains eighth with 41 points to its credit.- photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
