Taekwondo, Italy triumphs at Bulgaria Open with eight medals

ROME (ITALPRESS) – The elegance of the forms and the energy of the freestyle were tinged with blue at the Bulgaria Open, where the Italian national team imposed itself with a star performance, winning eight medals: five golds, one silver and two bronzes. A prestigious result that confirms Italy among the strongest nations on the European scene in the technical specialties of Taekwondo.

Italy reached the top step of the podium five times with the successes of Nicolas Achilli in the Individual Poomsae Junior Male category, Luca Ferella, Nicolò Botrugno and Francesco De Marco in the Poomsae Team Under 30 Male, Valentina Arlotti in the Individual Freestyle Over 17 Female, Luca Matellini in the Individual Freestyle Over 17 Male, and finally Luca Matellini and Valentina Arlotti in the Mixed Freestyle Over 17.

Rounding out the blue medal standings were Beatrice Coradeschi’s silver in the Women’s Individual Over 17 Freestyle, and two bronze medals with Claudia Cianci in the Women’s Individual Poomsae Under 30 category and the trio Gao He Li, Giada Bronzetti and Beatrice Cradeschi in the Women’s Trio Poomsae Under 30.

This result not only highlights the talent of the Italian athletes, but also shows how the growth of the movement has been driven by the creation of the Ciao Team, the federal freestyle taekwondo team wanted by President Angelo Cito and now world champion. A project that has raised the technical level of the discipline in Italy, making it increasingly competitive at the highest international levels.
