WASHINGTON (USA) (ITALPRESS) – “Ukraine and the United States are discussing the date and place of talks “to end the war.” This was disclosed by the U.S. president’s national security adviser Mike Waltz in an interview with the “Fox & Friends” program.
“Before I came here I talked on the phone with my colleague, the national security adviser of Ukraine. We had a good discussion about the venue for the next round of negotiations, the delegation, the substantive issues,” Waltz said.
U.S. President Donald Trump may consider “restoring aid” to Ukraine if peace talks are initiated and confidence-building measures are taken, added Waltz, who then stressed that the “letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky” was “a positive first step” in this direction. Earlier in the day yesterday President Trump had mentioned “a letter” in which Zelensky expressed willingness to sit at the negotiating table. Also in the day yesterday Trump had announced the suspension of military aid to Kiev. Zelensky’s spokesman Serhii Nykyforov later clarified to LIGA.net that the Ukrainian president did not send a “letter” and that Trump was referring to a message posted by Zelensky on X.
