TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Abarth adds another award to its collection: the first electric-powered Abarth 500e has been honored in the “Best Cars” competition by Germany’s prestigious “auto motor und sport” magazine. After eight years of accolades for its sportiness and styling features, it is now the BEV version that takes the stage, confirming the Scorpio brand’s leading role in the electric transition and making Scorpio hot hatch cars more fun than ever. The brand’s first electric jewel won the “Mini Cars” category with 23.6 percent of the vote, outperforming both domestic and import competitors, including models with electric and conventional combustion engines.
Readers of the German trade magazine have honored Abarth for the ninth time, awarding, with nearly a quarter of the preferences, the Abarth 500e as the best “Mini car” in the German market. This recognition, another major triumph for Abarth, underscores the brand’s international success, as well as its status among German car enthusiasts, not only for its well-known performance, but also for its value in the electric mobility scenario. The handover ceremony will be held in May during a special occasion, the Port of Hamburg’s birthday.
The Abarth 500e is the Scorpio brand’s first electric model, and thanks to its electric architecture, it has improved weight distribution, instant torque and a longer wheelbase. The 42-kWh battery powers an electric motor with an output of 113 kW (155 hp), enabling the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.0 seconds. The Abarth electric family has recently expanded with the Abarth 600e. This new model, developed with Stellantis Motorsport maintains the brand’s top performance and marks an important step for Abarth as it sets a new standard for compact electric sports cars due to its racing character.
