MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “Should a new moderate force be born? I have no doubt about it. It must be born. The two questions are when and how. On when we must not be in too much of a hurry, but we must avoid being too late: I think now is the time to
start reasoning on this point.” Interviewed today by Claudio Cerasa in Il Foglio, the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, reasons about his descent into the field in an explicit way for the first time.
“I recently saw a Swg poll,” he explains, “according to which putting together Action, Italy Alive, More Europe, you get eight percent. Eight percent like that, today, without even starting. But be careful: the theme is not to create a new acronym. The theme is to give a unified dimension to these realities, with a shared program and a precise goal: to create an alternative to extremism. I this project, I say it without
hesitation, I would look at it with interest. My term as mayor will end in May 2027, the general elections will be basically simultaneous, barring any surprises: the timing can match. Let’s take it one step at a time, but let’s do it.”
