APRILIA (ITALPRESS) – Latina State Police have arrested an Albanian-born man found in possession of more than 100 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the trunk of his car. As part of the intensification of territorial control services ordered following recent serious incidents in Aprilia, investigators from the Latina Mobile Squad proceeded to check a car that was proceeding at a suspicious pace.
The man on board, an Albanian citizen, class of ’83, incensed, during the investigation immediately showed a nervous attitude, a circumstance that increased the suspicions of investigators who then proceeded to personally search the subject extended to the vehicle. Inside the car, three duffel bags were found in the trunk compartment, inside of which were numerous cellophane-wrapped bricks that, as confirmed, to the state, by subsequent tests carried out by forensic police personnel, contained 105 kilograms of cocaine.
This is one of the largest drug seizures made in recent years in the province. The large amount of narcotics allegedly fed the drug market in Aprilia and surrounding areas. The narcotics found were seized, and the man was arrested for allegedly possessing drugs for the purpose of distribution. The same was taken to jail at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
