ROME (ITALPRESS) – LEO Pharma Italia, present in our country since 2012, has obtained UNI PdR 125:2022 certification on its Gender Equality Management System. “This important recognition,” explains a note, “confirms the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting a fair and inclusive work environment, capable of offering equal opportunities for professional and personal growth to all employees, valuing talents of all ages, genders, backgrounds and conditions.
“Obtaining certification does not represent a point of arrival, but marks a milestone on an ongoing journey toward an increasingly inclusive work environment.
We strongly believe in valuing differences, in promoting a corporate culture that allows everyone to freely express their identity and see their skills recognized without prejudice or discrimination,” said Paolo Pozzolini, General Manager of LEO Pharma Italia (pictured).
LEO Pharma Italia’s commitment to gender equality is also reflected in the numbers: currently, 58 percent of middle management positions are held by women, while in senior management there is substantial parity between men and women.
The recognition is the result of a structured process, developed in collaboration with the GERT – Gender Equality Research Team of LABChain at the Department of Economics of the University of Roma Tre, coordinated by Professor Silvia Ciucciovino.
The process included an in-depth assessment phase, the establishment of a dedicated committee, the creation of an Action Plan and the implementation of a corporate policy on gender equality.
“What emerged satisfactorily from the certification process was the confirmation that our corporate values were already well rooted in this direction, so much so that no substantial changes to our practices were necessary to achieve it,” commented Marco Cariani, Head of People at LEO Pharma Italia.
The company has launched a structured communication project on the certification: dedicated communications on newsletters, the company intranet portal and social channels. In addition, two training events are planned for employees and managers, followed by an e-learning course accessible to all staff. At the same time, information material on certification has been introduced in the onboarding process for new hires, so as to promote the values of inclusion and equal opportunity from the very beginning.
The certification is valid for three years and will be subject to annual review. In the meantime, LEO Pharma Italia will continue its collaboration with Roma Tre University, conducting two internal pre-audits before the next official audit scheduled for November. The company will also continue to monitor employee feedback to assess the level of engagement and further improve initiatives to support gender equality.
“With this recognition,” the note concludes, “LEO Pharma Italia confirms its commitment to promoting a work environment based on fairness, respect and enhancement of diversity, key elements for sustainable and responsible growth also in the pharmaceutical sector.
