March 8, ‘Green Pop’ gives voice to women. Gelmini “Far from affirming full equality”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of Women’s Day on March 8, Giornale Radio’s “Green Pop” program, hosted by Lucia Lo Palo, gave voice to a lineup of extraordinary women, addressing key issues related to gender equality and violence. Among the guests, architect Alessia Galimberti spoke about the importance of combining nature and sensitivity in materials, while entrepreneur Marina Salomon shared a touching testimony about her personal crisis and the impact of her choices on the fashion world.

Mariastella Gelmini, a former minister, reiterated that despite progress, gender equality is still a mirage: “We are far from establishing full equality. However, there has been transversality against gender violence, a unique attention among political forces.” He also commented on the importance of the recent DDL presented by Minister Roccella to combat feminicide: “There are too many tragic figures, 113 women lost their lives in 2024. There is still much to be done to ensure equal pay and more opportunities for women in the world of work,” Gelmini concluded, emphasizing the employment gap and the few women in leadership positions. An intense hour of listening, emotion, and reflection encapsulated the hopes and challenges of women today.
