Local public transport, new 24-hour strike on Tuesday, April 1

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “We have proclaimed a new 24-hour strike action for Tuesday, April 1 after the second phase of the cooling and conciliation procedure ended in a negative outcome at the ministerial level without the answers we were expecting.” This was reported unitedly by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Faisa Cisal and Ugl Fna, who thus announced a 24-hour strike of local public transport for Tuesday, April 1, adding that “local public transport workers deserve the renewal of the national contract.”

“We continue to claim,” the unions explain, “the full validity and operativeness of the contractual agreements signed without further verification and conditions. Failure to comply can only result in a phase of mobilization that we will have to continue to maintain until the employer parties and institutions honor their commitments.”

“This sector is in need of profound renewal, and companies must also assume the responsibility of doing business, which entails burdens that they must be aware of and abide by the commitments made in the contract renewal process,” the unions conclude.
