VATICAN CITY (ITALPRESS) – Small party this afternoon for the Pope at Gemelli Hospital where he has been hospitalized since Feb. 14.
According to a report from the Holy See Press Office, health care personnel assisting Francis organized a brief moment for him to celebrate 12 years of pontificate by handing him a cake with candles.
In the afternoon, the Pope followed the Spiritual Exercises for the Roman Curia by video link with the Paul VI Hall. He then resumed respiratory therapy. He continued alternating between non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night and high-flow oxygenation with nasal cannulae used during the day.
The clinical situation remains stationary in a complex picture. A new medical bulletin is expected tomorrow evening.
