Publishing, exciting balance sheet for the London leg of “The Possible Book”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Three days of meetings, exchanges of ideas and content between internationally renowned authors, Italian and British publishers, cultural institutions and an increasingly attentive and participatory public, articulated between the headquarters Italian Cultural Institute in London and the London Book Fair transformed the London Book Fair – a traditionally B2B event – into an opportunity for cultural osmosis between Italy and the UK.

The balance for the first international leg of The Possible Book in London is exciting. “We have worked as a system with the other players of the ‘Italian System’ in London, starting with the Embassy and the Agenzia ITA office in the British capital to promote our country’s publishing, offering it a truly international showcase,” said Francesco BongarrĂ , director of the Italian Cultural Institute in London, closing the London leg of Il Libro Possibile, the first organized outside Puglia. In organizing the event, the Italian Cultural Institute of London made a crucial contribution, especially in terms of content.

“Attendance went beyond expectations,” says Rosella Santoro, artistic director of the festival. “We saw extraordinary interest around our Media Corner at the London Book Fair, a dynamic place of discussion that captured the attention of authors, publishers and journalists. At the same time, the meetings hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in London, directed with great vision by Francesco BongarrĂ , sold out, a sign of a growing enthusiasm for the dialogue between Italian and English literature.”

The program offered moments of wide-ranging discussions with cult authors such as Philip Ball, Jonathan Coe, Carlo Cottarelli, Diego De Silva, Michele Masneri, Tommaso Ebhardt Barbara Gallavotti, and Olivia Laing.
