ROME (ITALPRESS) – “Yesterday we invited Meloni and we are in the right, when I went to the CGIL congress we were in the left… Dear friends, do you know who is never afraid to confront different people? Those who are clear about their identity. Are you afraid of a photo with Meloni or Landini? I am very grateful to the president of the Council it was an act of courage as for me to go to the CGIL, we are like that, we say the things we think.” Thus, Action leader Carlo Calenda in his closing remarks at the party’s congress in Rome.
“There will be no reform. None, Giorgia Meloni knows it as I know it from direct experience of the Renzi referendum. There is only one way to make reforms: we elect proportionally a 100-member constituent assembly to completely rewrite the second part of the Constitution, they tell me it is very difficult but the alternative is that no one will ever make a reform,” he added skeptically about reforms.
“Yesterday Paolo Gentiloni came, whom I would put back as prime minister tomorrow morning,” Calenda revealed in one of the passages of his speech, then the focus shifted to other political forces and the role of Action: “The alternative we have to build is to populism from the right and the left, because Conte is a child of the everyman tradition. A right-wing populist who should be with Salvini, because they are the same thing.”
