Of words and verses my life is composed, as well as of good Italian pasta. Coefficients, these, from which I would not know how to disregard, my legs would not sustain the pace of the days if I found myself lacking them. I am a fan of myself and I am going more and more to understand that I can incite myself, as much as, are noble the deeds I go to put into lyric or prose.
The fast and fluid world of which we are an active and conscious part, for a good percentage, puts us in front of new people all the time, many become popular and go into the limelight in the space of a few hours, often for almost demented gestures. This is not a good way of doing things, we would need to get to know people through different times and ways, it would not hurt to have a nice business card telling us about them from their first steps, showing us their progress, their attempts, their failures and their “business results.” The second edition Charity Dinner Next Gen South which, will be staged in New York and will be conducted by Davide Ippolito, made me think of identifying it as the right and referenced typography, for these rare and dreaded business cards; therefore, apt to print and disseminate them relentlessly.
Doing business requires innovation, sensitivity, study, attention, connections, expressiveness and knowledge of markets and people. Is this not also a way of making poetry? Of putting ingenuity and skills into verse, creating well-being for oneself, for workers, bringing beauty and kindness to places that lack them, improving the quality of life through inventions, dialoguing with the palate through sublime foods, devising products that alleviate disabilities, designing precision instruments for surgery, studying medicines, creating handcrafted products that can tell a story about the hands and places that coined them, forever and everywhere? My answer to these questions is affirmative, loving and convinced, and, I assert that doing business is another and different form of “solidarity” with the people who populate our planet.
The Big Apple, on May 29, 2025, will become a canasta of life composed of wickerworkers, born simple, gone forth industriously and firmly convinced that the world must be known through the use of roads, rails, seas and sky, equally certain, however, that what will hold it together and make it long-lived will be the actions and ideas of all the men and women who want to see it grow and improve. This is possible if we come to market with reputation, sacrifice and uniqueness.
Naples and Central Southern Italy have been lands of uniqueness since their origins and thus In Scudetto since Forever. Territorial and human entities where inventiveness, poetry, irony, theater, the sea, volcanoes and creation are its pillars. Warm hearts and fervent minds carry far, carry to be rare, Naples and all that is similar to it of this and so much more are its flag bearers.
I wish I were with you but it is not possible, I picture young hands shaking, contracts being sealed, comparisons lighting new light bulbs in the little clouds above the heads of the participants, I seem to smell the aromas of the dishes, and I know with certainty that I will applaud you, not only me, but the whole world. You will be applauded for what you have done so far and for what you will go on to chisel from the next dawn.
I believe that poetry is in service to the world, so why not be in service to those who impart, through innovation, more security, more prosperity and more genius to the world?
Your genius leads to fields of flowers and foliage,saphenes sprinkling life from simple and poor bodies,but devoted to the idea,ready to sacrifice the nightenuflexed to the good of all,rocks of the most restless seas,of the most barren lands,never rendered,leaning to the possible,to change,spinning at the loom of the future,heart to the sky,eyes to the knuckleswaiting to assist the new birth.The whole world waits,rests hope,all to bring you our tomorrow,you to fulfill us.
Let the enterprise be poetry verse, stand against suffering and unite in time, lands, men making their actions better, humble and useful.
