Italian Cabinet Approves Omnibus Decree with Measures Ranging from Taxes to Local Government Support

The Italian Cabinet has approved the omnibus decree featuring measures that span from taxation to local authorities, including support for displaced residents of the Vele di Scampia. Regarding bank taxation, Giorgetti clarified that “there will be no taxes on extraordinary profits. Certainly, banks, like other entities that generate profits, will be required to contribute to public finances. I don’t think there’s anything unusual about that. There will be no taxes on extraordinary profits, but there will be taxes on profits, for them just as for everyone else.”
