For the first time in the United States, Campus Salute arrives — the Italian initiative that promotes a culture of prevention, healthy lifestyles, and civic participation. After the success of numerous editions in Italy and international missions, the format lands in New York with a week full of events, educational meetings, and free check-ups aimed at the Italian-American community and the general public.
The initiative is promoted by Campus Salute, chaired by Pasquale Antonio Riccio, in collaboration with the Guglielmo Marconi Italian School led by Michael Cascianelli, Il Newyorkese by Davide Ippolito, the GrowTogether Foundation, the ecclesial community of the First Cathedral of St. Patrick led by Don Luigi Portarulo, and other local partners committed to social issues and public health.
“We have always believed that building networks and connections is essential to achieving any goal that bears fruit over time. With this belief, we are pleased to announce that we will experience our way of creating and promoting a culture of prevention for the first time with our volunteers and with prominent representatives of the Italian community in New York, coinciding with the UN General Assembly, from which we received recognition in 2021 for our commitment. All of this represents a starting point for Campus Salute toward an ever greater commitment to cooperation, offering models of participation and sustainable development,” says Pasquale Antonio Riccio, president of Campus Salute.
The project’s goal is to spread the culture of prevention among younger generations, raise awareness among families about healthy lifestyles, and offer free healthcare services thanks to the contribution of Italian doctors working in the USA and several professionals arriving from Italy to provide their support.
Also taking part in the New York week will be Professor Annamaria Colao, founder and former president of Campus Salute, current vice president of the Italian National Health Council, who has long been committed to promoting health prevention at the international level.
With this new milestone, Campus Salute confirms its international vocation and renews its commitment to healthcare cooperation, bringing the “Italian model” of prevention to every part of the world.
