Arianna Meloni confirms split with minister Francesco Lollobrigida amid political tensions

In an exclusive interview with Il Foglio, Arianna Meloni has officially confirmed the rumors that have been circulating within political circles for some time: her relationship with Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture and a prominent figure in the Fratelli d’Italia (FdI) party, has come to an end. The announcement marks the conclusion of a tumultuous week in which Meloni found herself at the center of political controversies, including speculation about her potential involvement in influential appointments within Rai and other key institutions.

Meloni expressed frustration with the persistent rumors, stating, “For two years, I’ve been portrayed as someone entangled in power plays and appointments. It’s disheartening.” She also emphasized her respect for the judicial system, distancing herself from any attack on it, while commenting on recent articles drawing parallels to past political methods. Despite the personal upheaval, Meloni reassured that her commitment to the political project of FdI remains unwavering. “The relationship with the party is solid,” she stated, affirming that her political ambitions continue unaffected.

While Lollobrigida attended the CL Meeting in Rimini, Meloni spent time in Sardinia with her daughters, maintaining a low profile. As her sister, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, remains out of the spotlight, possibly still in Puglia, Arianna aims to shift her focus back to party work, particularly the upcoming launch of a new political training school, set to begin this autumn.
