Crosetto a Ancona “Remember the role of Defense in a free and democratic country” / Photos and Videos

ANCONA (ITALPRESS) – Remember what the role of women and men of Defense is “in a country that wants to continue to be free and democratic”. Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said this in Ancona, during the celebrations of 4 November. The role of Defense, said Crosetto, “is like the air you breathe”, and “it realizes its need when needed”.

“The first thing is not to give weight to the words of that lady, since it is no one and normally the comments she makes do not bring anything positive,” he said on the margin facing the theme of the collapse of the tower in Rome: “Tanto is worth not giving her weight, so I don’t even mention the name for not giving her weight”, he added answering journalists about the statements of the spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zakharova.

“Today we decided not to pass the Tricolor Frecce because, when we decided last night and had not yet been found the person, we didn’t want minimally, even with a passage, put at risk more that person or risk new collapses. In accordance with the Presidency of the Republic we have made this decision and we are pleased to have done so. Today, for more reason, to respect that person who is no longer among us,” he stressed.

Crosetto also remembered that Italy is committed to the consolidation of the truce in the Middle East and to reach a truce also in Ukraine. “The armed forces and the defence serve to ensure that what we see happens in scenarios like those of war we are living. We are trying to do everything we can, we are not a great nation, but all that is our power, on the one hand because the truce is consolidated – I say it will be difficult, will be very long – and become peace in the Middle East, and why you finally start also in Ukraine, with a truce that then gives us the opportunity to build peace. So we help Ukraine, but every day we try to reach a truce even on those territories.” said.

PORTOLANO “L’IMPREVEDIBILITA’ DEGLI SCENARI FUTURI ESIGE NUOVE STRATEGIE”

“The unpredictability of future scenarios demands new strategies.” The Chief of Staff, General Luciano Portolano, declared this in the celebrations in Ancona on the occasion of the National Unity and the Armed Forces. Portolano stressed the importance of an inter-force approach to further improve interoperability. But “the human factor remains the true strategic asset”, he added thanking women and men engaged in the field.
