Amb. Peronaci: “Defense cooperation is a stategic pillar of Italy-U.S. Relations

Yesterday, the Day of National Unity and the Armed Forces was commemorated at the Embassy of Italy in Washington

“Defense cooperation between Italy and the United States represents one of the key pillars of our bilateral partnership,” said the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Marco Peronaci, recalling that “Prime Minister Meloni and President Trump highlighted, in their Joint Statement last April, the importance of strengthening cooperation on defense equipment and technologies, in order to further integrate the industrial capabilities of our two countries.”

Referring to the message delivered by the President of the Italian Republic on the occasion of yesterday’s celebrations, the Ambassador emphasized that Italy and the United States remain bound by shared political priorities and a common vision for the future. “I am confident that in the years to come we will continue to pursue productive and mutually beneficial cooperation, with the goal of making our democracies stronger and our citizens safer,” Peronaci concluded.

In addition to the Ambassador and the Defense Attaché, Gen. Davide Marzinotto, the event featured remarks by Keith Kellogg, Special Envoy of President Trump for Ukraine, representing the U.S. Administration. The reception was also attended by other senior government officials, including Deputy Secretary of Commerce Paul Dabbar, as well as representatives from the Pentagon, the Department of State, and the U.S. Armed Forces.
