Presented in Rome the Business Forum Energy and Infrastructure scheduled in February in Belgrade

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Today we talk about the future of Serbia and our vision is clear: that of a stable, sustainable and connected Serbia, ready for the challenges of the 21st century.” This was declared by the ambassador of Serbia in Italy, Mirjana Jeremic, opening today, at the Serbian embassy in Rome, the meeting dedicated to the presentation of the business forum Energy and Infrastructure Italy and Eastern-Central Europe, scheduled in Belgrade on 2 and 3 February.

“One of the pillars of this vision is the Transbalkan Energy Corridor. It has already begun the construction of the Obrenovac-Bajina Basta line”, he added, specifying that this network will allow a more stable flow and greater integration with renewable sources. The project sees a total investment of EUR 290 million in Serbia, with EUR 65 million from the EU. Another investment quoted by Jeremic is the gas interconnector with Bulgaria, a strategic project with a pipeline about 170 km long. At the same time, wind and solar parks throughout the country, the ambassador recalled, and these investments are part of a broader vision, including in Strategy 2027 as part of the Expo program – jump into the future. “With all this, Serbia does not only build roads and electric lines, but invests in stability and the future,” the ambassador concluded.

Today’s event has counted the presence, among others, of the president of Confindustria Est-Europa, Patrizio Dei Tos, of the president of Confindustria Serbia, Romano Rossi, of the president of Confindustria Albania, Davide Rogai. He was also present, Senator Marco Scurria, Secretary of the Political Committee of the European Union, as well as Giorgio Lupoi, president of the Oice, Francesco Marcolini, president of Lazio Innova, Errico Stravato, Ad di Sogesit. Finally, the President of the Ice, Matteo Zoppas, spoke on video connection. He coordinated the debate with the Director-General of Confindustria Est-Europa, Irena Brajovic.

‘This forum tastes unique. It’s not just a moment to be together, but it’s designed to give real answers to companies who want to go to discover the Serbian market,” said Senator Scurria. ‘I am part of the Italian-Serbia friendship group, and friendship is made on concrete things’, he observed.

The President of Confindustria Est-Europa, Patrizio Dei Tos, invited those present to seize the opportunities presented by the forum. ‘Being competitive is the most important thing in the future. We have all the cards in order to be present throughout Europe,” said Dei Tos to the entrepreneurs present. The president of Confindustria Serbia, Romano Rossi, has defined the forum a ‘moment of strategic meeting between government and enterprises, between technological innovation and entrepreneurial concreteness’ in a country ‘which offers stability, incentives and long-term vision’.
