TRENTO (ITALPRESS) – The Nass of Trento have carried out precautionary custody orders at the end of an operation to protect public health and prevention, with particular regard to children. The investigation, which was part of the controls on the abusive exercise of health professions in the Province of Trento, found that a general medical practitioner performed surgical procedures of circumcision within his own clinic.
Such interventions, required for cultural/rectual reasons, were carried out on minors, also from outside regions to that of Trento. Surgical operations were carried out in the absence of medical authorization and the clinic did not respect the required sanitary profile. The investigations showed that only in the course of 2022, at least 40 children, from outside the region, were circumcisiond at the structure of the doctor. In some cases, the procedures were “absolutely inadequate”, forcing urgent transport to the Hospital Emergency Office. Two small patients, in particular, were hospitalized following a benzodiazepine intoxication, administered in excessive dose to calm minors during surgery.
By order of the district attorney of Trento, the NAS military executed the order of custody under house arrest against the doctor. At the same time, the preventive seizure of the surgery was carried out, not authorized to perform delicate surgery. The complaint of the doctor’s elder son, employed as an auxiliary nurse, has also been made for delicate surgery without the necessary professional qualification.
During the search, the military found and seized several materials, including tapering belts, electric scalpels, benzodiazepine and local anesthetic. A business card was also seized with an express call to the effect of circumcisions and bills of health receipts.
